How to Process Stored Cards

Stored Cards in the Scratch Desktop App

Stored Cards in the Web Portal (dashboard.getscratch.com)

To Save a New Stored Card in the Desktop App:

  1. Post the invoice from your practice management system to the Scratch Pay Desktop App
  2. On the right side of the app screen, click on Terminal Payment Screenshot 2022-06-24 170205
  3. Enter the card details in the By manual input box, check the box marked Save card details, then click Process

  5. On the popup screen, confirm that the email address is correct and change it if necessary, then click Confirm. This will send your client an email confirming that their card has been saved on file at your practice for future use.

Note: if you'd wish you save information without running a payment, you may do so by entering $0 in the amount, and proceeding with the above instructions

To Process a Payment with a Previously Stored Card in the Desktop App:

  1. Post the invoice from your practice management system to the Scratch Pay Desktop App
  2. On the right side of the app screen, click on Terminal Payment
  3. If your client has a saved payment method on file, the yellow Saved Payment Methods button will appear at the bottom of the By manual input box. Click on that button to display all of that client's saved payment methods.
  4. Select which saved payment method your client would like to use, then click Confirm to charge that card.Screenshot 2022-06-25 222324

To Delete a Saved Card in the Desktop App:

  1. When processing an invoice for the client, click on the yellow Saved Payment Methods button at the bottom of the By manual input box to display all of that client's saved payment methods. 
  2. To delete a saved payment method, click on the red trashcan icon next to it. This will open a popup to confirm the deletion. Click Delete on the popup. The popup will then ask you to confirm or edit your client's email address, then send them an email confirming the deletion of that stored card. 

To Save a New Stored Card in the Web Portal:

  1. Navigate to https://dashboard.getscratch.com/dashboard/collect-payment and select Phone Payment at the top of the screen. 
  2. Fill out the card details that you would like to save and click the box at the bottom that says "Save card details for future use?" Screenshot 2022-11-29 222816

To save a card without taking a payment at the same time, enter in 0 for the Amount, check the box at the bottom labeled "Save card details for future use?" then click Submit Payment.

To Process a Payment with a Previously Stored Card in the Web Portal:

  1. Navigate to https://dashboard.getscratch.com/dashboard/collect-payment and select Phone Payment at the top of the screen. 
  2. Enter in the Amount of the payment and the Client ID. If there is a saved card on file for that Client ID, the Saved Cards box will appear. Click in to that box and select the saved payment method you would like to use.

To Delete a Saved Card in the Web Portal:

  1. Navigate to https://dashboard.getscratch.com/dashboard/collect-payment and select Phone Payment at the top of the screen. 
  2. Fill in the Client ID. If there is a saved card on file for that Client ID, the Saved Cards box will appear. Click in to that box then select the red Delete button of the saved payment method you would like to delete. 
  3. Enter or confirm the email address of your client on the popup screen.
